Careers - Frequently Asked Questions

Launch Plan

▸ How many clinicians are we hiring?

We are starting in six states with just one or two clinicians per state to launch. We have the intention to expand to meet client demand and offer more choices to clients. We're in the beginning stages of interviewing clinicians and have waiting lists underway for clients.

▸ In which states are we hiring?

To launch the collective we are serving clients in California, Oregon, Michigan, Florida, New York and Massachusetts We plan to expand to other states as we hope to grow and meet the growing demand for quality IFS therapy.

Business Model

▸ How does the IFS Telehealth Collective (IFS-TC) compare to solo private practice?

The IFS-TC is a group practice owned by the founders. We hire clinicians who are Level 1 trained who are looking for community and support. As an employee you will be provided telehealth training, ongoing IFS supervision, the tools you need to do your job, and best of all clients who want to do IFS therapy.

▸ How will services be coordinated?

Our Client Care Coordinators will respond to all client inquiries They will conduct initial consultation and assess potential clients for telehealth fit, determine their goals and preferences and answer any preliminary questions to make sure working with one of our clinicians would be right for them. They will then match the client with a clinician and schedule the initial intake session.

▸ Is this more of a hub/referral network or an actual national center where clinicians in different states would get to collaborate with each other?

This is a group practice that we hope feels like a supportive place where our employed therapists can come together for consultation, sharing ideas, and mutual support. This is not a referral network, but if a potential client isn't a good fit for our services we may offer them other resources.

▸ What is our model for collaboration/supervision? Will there be multiple agreements/dyads/groups?

Paul Ginter and Mariel Pastor will run consultation groups on a weekly basis. Clinicians will also get monthly individual supervision from Paul or Mariel and will have support from them as clinical emergencies arise. Employees will be encouraged to offer peer support as well. We intend to bring in other IFS speakers for in-service presentations.

Diversity & Inclusion

▸ What structures or intentions are in place regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion for the practice.

Our clients come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our vision, values and our enthusiasm for IFS therapy, you will find a home at the IFS Telehealth Collective.

Clinician Logistics

▸ Are clinicians free to maintain some time for their local private practice?

Our clinicians may maintain their current private practice clients as long as they have availability or see a minimum of 15 clients from the IFS Telehealth Collective.

▸ How long do you project it will take to build up a caseload with the IFS Telehealth Collective?

We will be marketing consistently on social media and with our large, established IFS network for referrals. It's our hope that it won't take more than a few months for new clinicians to get 15 clients.

▸ Will clinicians work with clients across state lines?

Our clinicians will work with clients within the state(s) where they are licensed. Psychologists who are a part of PsyPact may be eligible to work with clients in multiple states. If a client were to relocate temporarily to another state, current telehealth laws may allow for that client to continue with their therapist from their home state. Our policies may change as telehealth laws evolve.

▸ How are we handling the state to state licensure issues, since each state is different and clinicians are limited to only see clients in their state?

Until and unless telehealth laws officially change, clinicians will be able to serve clients from the states in which they're licensed. An exception to this would be for psychologists who are a part of PsyPact which is a new alliance between psychologists and 30 different states.

▸ What videoconferencing and practice management platforms will we be using?

SimplePractice will be used for practice management, including client records, telehealth sessions and billing. Clients can access their sessions through the client portal on the IFS-TC website or via their email appointment reminder.

▸ Are we hiring individual clinicians so that payment comes through our entity? Or are people going to be doing their own financial agreements with clients?

The payments come through us. We set the rates according to what is average for each state we're in. Clinicians will log into the session through SimplePractice and the client’s credit card on file in SimplePractice will be charged after the session. We do not take insurance, but we can provide a superbill to clients who want to submit their own claims.

▸ Do we accept insurance?

We are private pay only. We provide a superbill for clients who want to claim reimbursement from their insurance.

Compensation/Benefits

▸ What kind of employee benefits will the IFS Telehealth Collective (IFS-TC) provide?

Perhaps the biggest and most immediate benefit is access to weekly and monthly consultation opportunities with two IFS Lead Trainers and the priceless reward of working with a group of like-minded colleagues on a team. Employees also have unlimited access to an exclusive library of IFS tools. The IFS-TC adheres to all of the employment laws and regulations in each state where we're registered to do business. In addition to these benefits, we contribute towards medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401K for full-time employees.

▸ How is the competitive salary calculated?

We researched prices for our services based on customary rates for self-pay in each state and according to session length. Compensation information is provided to applicants.

Client Outreach/Marketing

▸ How are clients finding the IFS Telehealth Collective?

We are well-connected to the larger IFS community where many clinicians are looking for a reliable referral resource for clients seeking true IFS therapy. In addition to networking in the IFS and mental health community, we will be marketing our services online and through social media.

▸ What kind of marketing and social media will we be doing?

We have a marketing firm to help us engage in social media and a strong platform as trainers to reach many IFS therapists who are looking for somewhere to refer clients and perhaps seek therapy for themselves.

▸ What is our vision for attracting clients?

We have a marketing firm to help us attract clients who are looking for IFS therapy. We expect referrals will also come through our trainer colleagues, IFS clinicians, other mental health providers and treatment programs. Also, the founders get many requests for IFS referrals that will be directed to this group. Interested in applying for our growing clinical team?
