My Approach

As a long-time surfer, climber, and explorer at heart I believe that most of what holds us back is fear—very real fears that might be there for good reason. I view my role as a guide who can help you move through them. Like any good guide, I’ll help you map the territory, build trust in your Self, learn skills to move through difficult and dangerous spots, and discover a clearer perspective on top of the mountain. I will encourage you to get curious about everything. When our curiosity outweighs our fears, we can take the leap into a more authentic life.

I am committed to building a trusting relationship with you where you can express yourself without worry of judgment. I offer a grounded, warm, and calm energy to create a space for exploration. All is welcome – tears, laughs, anger. In our sessions, you can expect realness, compassion, and honesty. I listen for what my clients really need and offer highly individualized care. My therapeutic orientation is existential-humanistic, which is reflected in my style of IFS. I take a balanced role in conversation – between deep listening, asking questions, reflecting back what is important to you, and kindly challenging you when I sense inconsistencies.

I work with adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, grief, men’s issues, and life transitions. I am also trained and specialize in psychedelic integration for those seeking support before and after their journeys.

My Journey

I became a therapist because I never had one when I needed it most. I didn’t have a wise, honest, compassionate, listening ear to sit with me in my suffering, to help me sort through what I actually wanted from life, to explore my patterns and parts. To be able to offer this to clients gives my life deep meaning and satisfaction. And my clients in turn teach me so much about what it means to be human. Even though it can really feel like it, we are not alone in our pain.

The saying “In order to find your way, you have to get lost” could be a tagline for my life. I’ve jumped around more places, people, passions, and perspectives than I can count. It’s been rewarding and challenging. Through all the exploration, my yearning for purpose guides me. I began my career in tech consulting after graduating with a business degree from UT Austin. Feeling unsatisfied and freshly back from a trip to the Amazon, I joined a rainforest conservation non-profit. I was in love with the mission, but burnout struck me hard, and I did some soul-searching. In this period of darkness, a few synchronicities pointed me to the idea of being a therapist. So, I gave it a shot. I worked at an eco-therapy center in Hawaii, got my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, worked at a few ketamine therapy providers, and now offer psychotherapy, mostly IFS. Recently, I began working as an assistant facilitator for FDA clinical trials of psychedelic medicines for depression.

The golden thread that connects all these paths is service. I feel my best when I’m doing something for the greater good – and remembering to take care of myself. IFS has helped a lot in tending to my many parts with love and understanding.

Fun Fact About Me:

Some fun facts about me: I have webbed toes. I fell into a boiling river in the Amazon rainforest and walked out alive. I’ve lived in 3 countries and traveled to a couple dozen more. I love to play music, surf, rock climb, do Brazilian jiu-jitsu, learn languages, and be a goofball with my friends and family.

I’d love to help you.
