Hello! My name is Stefani and I believe that the number one factor for success in therapy is in building a supportive relationship. Providing a genuine, non-judgemental, and predictable space is crucial to my client's growth. Through Internal Family Systems, a strength-based model, I provide the opportunity for a more positive experience in getting needs met. I value each client's experience as a guiding map for the therapy.

My Approach

As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor for over 15 years, I feel confident working with children, adolescents, and adults.  This background has inspired my creativity in using IFS with adults.  Many of us have young parts that have not had the experience of being heard.  Through play and expressive therapy, clients of all ages are able to find their voice and work on challenges.  This can be a powerful addition to more standard IFS internal work, and I am happy to discover with you which resources suit you best.

Professional Background

I am Adjunct Faculty in the Expressive Therapy and Mental Health Counseling graduate department at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a local and national trainer.  I bring 20 years of experience to my clients in Florida and Massachusetts, as I am licensed in both states.

My Journey

Likewise, I’m bilingual in Spanish and have spent time in Ecuador and Spain.  My journey to becoming bilingual was inspired by my brother who we adopted from Colombia.  Though he never spoke Spanish, it became important to me to honor the language and culture he was born into.  I have worked with many families who have immigrated from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Central and South America.  Also on my counseling journey, I have been inspired to support young people in their life development.  I use art, movement, music, and play to help clients reach their goals.

I began my journey in IFS in 2010 as I noticed the need for clients to “befriend their learning edges.” It became clear to me that society encourages us to “get over” our problems. In my experience, the more we understand ourselves and our parts that are trying to help us, the easier it becomes to actually achieve our best self. I have personally learned to be more gentle, curious, and compassionate with those parts of me that I previously had tried to hide. I joined the IFS Telehealth Collective to help others find this same compassion and curiosity within themselves.

I look forward to getting to know you and starting our collaborative relationship.
