Hello and welcome! It takes courage to embark on a therapeutic journey, and I applaud your inspiration to do so. Whether you are new to the concept of therapy or are seasoned in this department, the connection between clinician and client is a crucial one, and I recommend you take your time to ensure that you have found a good fit before getting started.

My Approach

I see myself as a gentle and compassionate guide for the clients whom I work with. I consider myself trauma-informed and culturally conscious, with experience treating childhood traumas of all forms. Clients tend to come to me with wide-ranging concerns: various anxieties and fears, depression and hopelessness, body image insecurities, and parenting difficulties. I attune my style to each client’s individual needs and love leaning on each person’s unique creative preferences toward the path of Self-discovery. Some clients prefer drawing or journaling to accompany the therapy, while others prefer role-playing, movement, or internal visualizations. I have found that no two therapeutic processes are identical, as each person’s path toward healing.

My Journey

My journey as a clinician began through my love and dedication to being of service to children. I have always loved working with youth which, coupled with my own childhood difficulties, sent me on a mission to find how I could be of service to others.

Through my doctoral program, I worked in various school, day-treatment, and hospital settings in underserved populations with children and teens suffering from trauma in all different forms.  I felt deeply that something was amiss and committed several years focusing on the healing potential within the parent-child relationship. While working at UCSF’s Child Trauma Research Program, I found that providing gentle guidance and compassionate holding space for caregivers helped them courageously share their own stories and re-establish a beautiful connection to their child. The belief in mutual growth and transformation through an attuned parent-child relationship laid the foundation for me as I began my private practice.

When I discovered Internal Family Systems, my perspective on whom I could help broadened even more deeply. The most transformational discovery for me was that a person’s underlying Self can provide this very same attuned and compassionate relational healing for the pain and wounding they experience. Once these adult clients began to heal their own early life traumas through IFS, they spontaneously began to show up for their kids as more attuned and compassionate. Their children benefited greatly from their parents’ internal work and often the child’s own need to see a therapist diminished.

I welcome all adult clients looking to know themselves more deeply to begin the healing journey, trusting it will benefit all relationships in their lives. It would be a great honor to join you on your path toward further Self-discovery!

About Me

I can honestly say that my life can be categorized according to the time before finding Internal Family Systems and afterward. I have found my own IFS therapy to be absolutely life-altering and have helped others to discover their own boundless resource of self-compassion, creativity and courage. Witnessing how each person’s individual healing can impact the collective fills me with great hope in humanity, despite the uncertain times in which we live.
